Mike Maddox
Director of Communications
With a degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University and graduate classes at John Hopkins MBA program, I have managed to make a living as a developer and consultant for over 20 years working at many diverse companies. Companies such as small startups like Media Cybernetics and Centec, to medium size companies like Arinc, IDA, and Freddie Mac, to large companies such as Boeing and SAIC. Along my travels I have dabbled in the fine arts of C, C++, PERL, ASP, VB, ASP.NET, VB.net and C#, traversed the realms of databases such as Sybase, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and dived into the depths of MS Windows, Unix Motif, Client Server, Object Oriented, Visual Studio and .Net. Every system and paradigm has its advantages but nothing has the potential of Cloud Computing. The thought of boundless storage capacity, access from anywhere, and the explosive growth and acceptance of smart phones and tablets makes me excited and glad to be a part of the capitol cloud computing users group where I can learn from industry experts and try to stay abreast of the ever growing cloud computing wave. |
